One can argue that the Fall is the best time of year in the Shuswap. The weather is cooler, outdoor areas are quieter, and you get to bring out your light jackets and leather shoes. In the store we are transitioning away from sandals and into leather and closed toe footwear.
It also gets darker a lot earlier in the evening and outdoor activities are either cut short or finishing up in the dark. This is the time of year to make sure your headlamp is working and has fresh batteries. There have been some great upgrades to lighting over the past few years so upgrading your lamp may be a wise option.
Here are some highlights for the Fall season:
Redback boots are a high quality hand made boot that are made with full grain leathers. They have a well cushioned midsole and insole and hold orthotics very well. The boots are available in soft toe and CSA steel toe.
Women’s leather shoes come in a variety of closure options ranging from lace to velcro to slip on. All have removable footbeds and many of our lady’s shoes are available in widths.
Oboz has been a wonderful brand that we added earlier this year. In the fall we added 3 men’s leather options with the Firebrand, the Livingston, and the Bridger.
We’ve expanded our Merino wool Darn Tough sock collection to include higher cuts and more padded options.
We continue to carry Petzl head lamps ranging from 300-450 lumens. These lights are great for evening runs or walks when the sunlight starts to fade.
Knockaround sunglass options are growing with lots of cool colours. These have been a very popular purchase as they start at $30. There are so many colours to choose from you might want a couple of pairs!
Of course we continue to carry our same great selection of athletic, outdoor, and casual shoes year round.
